Filler: A collectable stamp with clearly visible faults

Fine filler: A fine looking stamp with minor fault such as thin on bach, invisible split or a missing perf. Stamps with no faults but very heavy cancel are also fine fillers.

Average: Numeral cancel or parcel cancel - dark but not very heavy. Centering is average. Victorian stamps and seahorses with 1 or 2 short (but not missing) perfs. are also average examples.


Fine: Light and clear numeral cancel or numeral cancel and part CDS. High values with 2 or more CDS cancels are also in this category. The stamp has no faults and average to fine centering.



Fine CDS: Readable CDS. Perhaps fine CDS and small part numeral cancel. The stamp has no faults an fine centering. Stamps with superb CDS but average centering are also in this category.


Superb CDS: Clear readable and upright or almost upright CDS. The stamp has no faults and fine centering.
